The company was once China's largest inter-provincial long-distance passenger transport enterprise and Shanghai's largest bus operator. It handled 60% of Shanghai’s public bus passenger volume and owned the nation’s largest fleet, holding an absolutely dominant position in Shanghai’s public transport market. It operated nearly 5,800 taxis, accounting for approximately 14% of urban taxis in the city, with strong market competitiveness in Shanghai. The material asset restructuring was completed at the end of March 2009, marking a full transformation from public transport operations to independent auto parts supply. Huayu Automotive directly manages 23 independent auto parts manufacturers covering three major business segments: interior and exterior automotive parts, functional assemblies, and thermal processing. Most subsidiaries including Yanfeng Visteon, GKN, Sanden Behr and Koito have long ranked first in their respective domestic market segments, boasting solid core competitiveness and sustainable development potential.
